007

James Bond, 007, Licence to Kill.

Bond is one of the big screen’s most enduring and popular icons and, after Star Wars, the second most profitable film franchise in the history of cinema.

One of the key contributors to the success of the Bond movies has been the twenty two superb film soundtracks that have accompanied the films.  From the opening notes of Monty Norman’s instantly recognisable Bond theme, to Jack White and Adele’s modern Skyfall, contributors as varied as John Barry, Madonna, Eric Serra, Lulu, Paul McCartney, a-Ha, Jack White and Bono have been involved in crafting the Bond music we have come to know and love.

In my series for The James Bond Dossier I explore the history of the Bond music from the ska/reggae origins of Dr No to the present day.
